"Blind Wall" challenges the exhibition potential of the blind walls through the '"mise en abyme" effect. This visual effect is caused by the repetition of an image within itself to infinity. In this proposal, the blind wall is both the support as well as the image: a blind wall the displays a blind wall that displays the same blind wall... generating vertigo where before there was only a limit.

This project was an intervention proposal for the Project Primeira Avenida/Duplo Sentido - a partnership between the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia and the Master in Art and Design for the Public Space of the University of Porto. The intervention was accepted and will be on display from December, 2019 to March, 2020.

The large number of blind gables of Avenida da República make latent the different moments of this avenue, which has more than a century of history. These plans appear near lots with historic buildings (which are less tall), lots that housed these buildings and are now empty, and also next to recent lower buildings, highlighting the different processes of occupation and construction of this avenue.
